Penang Chefs Challenge 2006 |
While most of us were down in World Cup fever which the
Italians and French battling it out early in the morning of 10th August, a group
of professionals gathered for the final showdown of another Grand Event. No,
they were not gathering for the final football mania but from all around the
region, culinary experts gathered at Penang International Sports Arena for the
2nd Penang Chef Challenge contesting for the title Champion!
The 3 day event , saw 15 teams of 4 chefs stirring up 4
unsurpassed culinary dishes. An appetizer, soup, main course and dessert all to
be served in 90 minutes to the panel of judges. Having a few pieces of food
decorated artistically on a rather large platter, the crowd was amazed by the
signature dishes during the competition. It was definetly not like our very home
cooked food.
The final results of the competition was The Fullerton
Hotel, Singapore as the Champion for the 2nd Penang Chef Challenge 2006. Runners
up was Sheraton Imperial, Kuala Lumpur followed by Genting Highland Resort,
Pahang. Congratulations to the winners and and for the rest of the participants,
better luck next time.
